Trip Overview
Be one of the first kayakers to experience the newly created 105-mile long Big Bend Saltwater Paddling Trail. Your expedition begins at the lighthouse at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. Over the course of eight days, we paddle over endless shallows of turtle grass and manatee grass, explore countless rivers that flow from the bayou to the Gulf waters, camp primitive-style on isolated wilderness beaches and small islands, and of course, feast on fresh caught trout, reds, and drums.

This trip is designed for those who are looking for the total wilderness experience and the joys that accompany being in the wild. We travel in the winter and spring months when the bugs are down, the fishing is red hot, and the weather is crisp and cool. Winter season also brings us in contact with large rafts of migrating ducks, including the noisy loons of the north.
